A&R Internship
What You Do:
As the A&R Intern will be responsible for finding talented acts based in or near by NYC for our new Orange Singles series, presenting them to us, communicating with the artists if they are selected, and supporting them through the recording process. Artists selected for this series will work with one of several prominent indie producers involved in the project, and record one song for digital release on Family Records. The songs selected for this project will also actively be pitched to television, film and commercials, and should be appropriate for this aspect of the project. The ideal artist for this project is still at growth level, has written at least one amazing song that has lasting value (which would be the song we’d record), and is someone that fits in with our catalog of releases on an artistic and personality level.
You will be involved in the process of scouting, recording, releasing and promoting the recordings that stem from your finds.
Who You Are:
We are looking someone with impeccable taste in music, strong common sense, and solid judgment. It is important that you are a pro-active self-starter, a motivated learner, a great writer and strong communicator. You can work from home or from the office, depending on our needs. You like seeing shows and finding new bands. You are a passionate and kind person. You take responsibility and don’t wait around to be told what to do. Familiar with the world of music blogs and indie shows.
