Lunch In The Park EP
Known for his work with New York City indie favorites, the Undisputed
Heavyweights, Jeff Jacobson released his solo debut album on Family
Records.
A guitarist since the age of five and songwriter since his early
teens, Jacobson started as a session player, touring and recording
with various major label artists, which enabled him to work
extensively with veteran producer Phil Ramone and perform on
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Jacobson then left performing
for a career in music transcribing, creating the note-for-note guitar
scores for more than 250 major artists' sheet music books including
Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Ryan Adams, Dave Matthews, John
Mayer, Metallica, Wolfmother, Gorillaz, Guns N Roses, and even
Anthrax.
In 2003, Jacobson returned to the music scene and began playing his
own music, beginning with the open mic circuit, where the live
recording of the very first song he performed in public was chosen for
a "best of" CD featuring Greenwich Village musicians distributed by
Underground Music Online. Jacobson quickly graduated to his own shows
and along the way garnered various songwriting accolades/awards
including being one of ten musicians among 400 selected to play for
the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He was also a finalist in the
Williamsburg Singer/Songwriter Competition, and voted one of the "14
Best Singer/Songwriters of Greenwich Village" by Underground Music
Online. Jacobson is the only songwriter to snag this title every year
since 2003, making it a unique achievement.
"The album ends, and it's good that most CD players have a repeat
function so you can go right back to the beginning..." - Boog
City
"Jeff Jacobson definitely is no musical lightweight. Paying homage to
the past without sounding derivative, it's no wonder that he's won
several accolades as a singer/songwriter." - Deli Magazine
