If you were at The Living Room last Wednesday to celebrate the release of Matt Singer’s new EP The Drought, then you probably still have The Poet stuck in your head, too.

The night opened with the incomparable Casey Shea and ended with the extremely talented Ms. Misty Boyce (“Yeah, Boyce!”), both of whom helped make the night really special. And between the two was the man of the hour, Matt Singer, who held us in the palm of his hand throughout the set, and brought us all to our feet when it was over, requesting… nay, demanding an encore. I don’t know if there are many other Living Room performers who can boast a rowdy standing ovation, but that’s just the effect that Matt Singer has on us.

Thanks to an accommodating cab driver, I listened to the whole EP at full blast on my ride back to Brooklyn, and it hasn’t left my CD player since. So go get your own, because you can’t borrow mine.

Thanks to everyone who came and shared the night! We love you. Yeah, and especially you there in the middle.
