We are THRILLED to be going down to Austin TX for our fifth SxSW in a row, and even more exciting, our first year ever with an official Family Records presence. We have our own day party, in partnership with The Orchard, at the Dizzy Rooster, right on the main strip of 6th Street. Casey Shea, Pearl and the Beard, and Wakey!Wakey! are all coming down for a few other shows as well!

Casey Shea just finished up his monthlong Saturday residency at Rockwood Music Hall and is segueing right into a Friday night residency for the next two weeks. Come and watch the band get more and more rocking in preparation of recording one of their two new albums of 2010. The working title for this September release is “Utter Domination Vol. 1″, but we’re still focus-grouping that one.
March will bring us the pre-cursor album “Love Is Here To Stay”.

We’re excited to announce that Matthew Dorrien’s song “Let It Shine” will be featured on the CBS tv show “Ghost Whisperer” in their January 15th episode! It’s a quality show with great music so be sure to check it out. You can hear the song, and the EP that it’s from, below. You may notice Mr. Casey Shea’s background vocals all over it.

In January 2009, Shea combined forces with NY label Family Records, to introduce the public to a catalog of solo works. Not wanting to have one big record release show and then be done with it, Casey and his label questioned, “How can we put out this music in a unique way?” The answer: The “ABC’s Singles Release Shows”, a multitude of performances booked at different venues over the course of the year, each featuring two professional recordings and one informal demo made at home- the A side, B side, and C side.
The concept, another throwback to the past, quickly garnered a fantastically devoted audience following. “In Search Of Seas” was compiled especially for 100000Fans.com taking all the A and B sides, and adding a bonus track for your listening pleasure…

The wonderful Jocelyn of Pearl and the Beard created a flyer that becomes a pinwheel! Here are her instructions:
1. Gather scissors, a pencil, and a thumb tack.
2. Cut along all dotted lines.
3. Fold in four corners of paper so that dots meet X in center.
4. Push tumb tack through dots and X, then into eraser end of pencil.
5. Twirl pinwheel, shriek with glee.
6. Bring your pinwheel to the Gramercy Theatre on July 11th. 7. Repeat Step Five.”
