December 7th’s One Tree Hill episode will feature Michael of our very own Wakey!Wakey! in his third appearance. This will be the first time he comes out from behind the Tric bar, as he performs a solo rendition of “Brooklyn”. To celebrate this we are releasing the two-song digital-only “Brooklyn/Manhattan”, featuring b-side “Clinton St. Girl”. Check out the player below and Mike’s performance of “Brooklyn” as captured in a piano store by AthensSoundies.com. Also making an appearance this episode, albeit only a small cameo (but with a close-up!) is Family Records’s founder Wesley Verhoeve! You’ll get a chuckle out of the scene for sure. Be sure to tune into the CW at 8pm Eastern Time and buy the single!

We’re excited to announce that our very own Wakey!Wakey! is releasing an acoustic version of “Brooklyn” on Monday December 7th, the same day the song will be played on One Tree Hill. It will be the a-side on the digital 7″ “Brooklyn/Manhattan”, which will also include “Clinton St. Girl” as a B-Side. Find the gorgeous cover art below, as always designed by the amazing Carolyn Wachnicki. More on this release here. This song will not appear on the upcoming album in 2010. More news on that soon! The band will debut a few new songs off of the new album.

Per my tweet earlier, we have some exciting news! Mike of Wakey!Wakey! was invited to play a small part as a bartender on CW’s One Tree Hill, the show that also featured ‘War Sweater’ and Casey Shea’s ‘Roll Your Windows Down’. Here he is, all excited holding up his script in the hotel room. This episode will air November 9th. — Wesley
